You’ve heard of moving goalposts, right?
Well, this is about goals being kicked away and what to do about it.

Often when you aim for a target your goal is likely to get kicked away from you.
For example, right now as I sit by the roadside with a split cycle tyre the goal of getting fit feels as far away as the puncture repair kit is -that I was certain I’d packed when I left home this morning.
Sometimes you feel like you shouldn’t have bothered, and you’d be better off not having tried.
That’s the deceptive thing about Success, before you reach any worthy goal it will ask you if you really want it.
The feelings of dissappointment and dejection are just that – feelings, though they are intense at the time they occur.

Any great achievement is adorned with much dissappointment and defeat along the way. History deliberates not over lost battles as much as wars won.
So if your goal is kicked off target remember it’s the aim of Persistence that will help you score.
Keep on keeping on, Success is calling you.

If you have a to-do list, goal list, or any other kind of list, that you think would be better carried in printed form I’d strongly recommend a PocketMod to do the job.
You enter your list into a software application and the output is an A4 size sheet that can be folded into a mini booklet. For example, the booklet is very handy as an inventory list of what you’ve taken with you on holiday. Small, neat and does the job beautifully. You may have your revision notes for each subject printed onto individual PocketMods.
It has a multitude of uses, and though it would probably be used for lists, it’s not limited to solely list information.
Want a mini goal reminder in your wallet?
Then modify what you cary in your pocket, PocketMod those goals!

No the title isn’t an inebriated typo, or a forage into composition of Engrish prose. Those with communication induced sore thumbs may immediately recognise it as a reference to the Blackberry communications device from the company Research In Motion (RIM).
In a long saga spanning pretty much an entire year I have finally become an owner of a Blackberry device. Though the painfully expensive and protracted saga ended but a few weeks ago I can already state it was worth the hassle. Well worth the hassle.
I’ve never had any predisposition for RIM devices and still don’t, as long as it gets the job done I’m a happy bunny. Palm and Windows mobile devices just didn’t cut the mustard.
I wondered why many successful business people, and presidents owned Blackberry devices. Now I know; from experience.
Full Qwerty keyboard.
Suitable for one hand use.
A universe of software and support.
All of its features are geared towards getting things done efficiently. (Checkout its shortcuts for instance).
That last point is the clincher for me. I’ve had too many device features fail to live up to their promise, turning out to be mere eye candy rather than fulfilling a useful purpose.
The wow factor fails to impress me much, but the “can do” factor?.. mmm that sounds Berry nice!

Without life goals to aim for we're 'shooting blanks' with our time.Remember Confucius never said “An arrow can only strike the target if the target exists.” This is because I made up that sentence just now in order to illustrate the point of setting goals.

A goal, tangible or virtual, is a marker by which we can measure our efforts. No marker means there’s no way of knowing you’re reaching your goal. It’s the target on the shooting range, the bullseye on the dartboard, the lap time on the clock, the landing light on the runway, the point “B” on the Google map, the luggage carousel in the airport…err, well you get my drift. It’s the point that tells you you’ve hit the mark, acheived, or arrived at where you want to be in life.

We take many corrective steps to steer us towards the marker (the goal) till we eventually achieve it.

Want to be successful? Define what success means to you, write it down and set down your marker. Set your goal.

My current goal is 166 more edits away (sic.) ;)
